Pietro Elia Campana graduated in 2011 from the University of Perugia, Italy, with a MSc in environmental engineering. He received is PhD in Energy and Environmental engineering at Mälardalen University, Sweden, in April 2015. The title of his PhD thesis is “PV water pumping systems for agricultural applications” (opponent Prof L. Kazmerski, University of Colorado Boulder and National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL)).
He has served as research assistant at the International Institute for Applied System Analysis, Vienna.
He has been visiting PhD student at the Chinese Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research, Institute of Water resources for Pastoral Areas, State Key Laboratory of Energy Clean Utilization (Zhejiang University), and Department of Building Services Engineering (Hong Kong Polytechnic University). He is registered as professional engineer in Italy.
His main fields of scientific interest include solar energy, in particular integration of solar energy in agricultural and industrial processes.
